CATALONIA BEAT CHILE 4 A 3 BUT COULDN'T REACH THE TITLE

Chile

Catalonia

Catalonia, back from a match that Chile was ruling at halftime, has finally won by 4 to 3. This scoreboard that is not enough to win the competition, but remain tied on points with those who have finished getting the cup: the CP Voltregà.

A Fernanda Urrea's goal in the first half has complicated the options for Catalonia to achieve the title but the Catalan players have continued struggling to achieve a narrow victory over the "marcianitas". The game was very physical with contact between two teams that are well understood. The two Chilean goals in the second half by direct foul have made the final minutes very intense and exciting.

Goals: For Catalonia scored Maria Díez (2), Yolanda Font and Clàudia Miret. For Chile, the corers were Francisca Donoso (2) and Fernanda Urrea

CP VOLTREGÀ WIN 0-3 AND SHOULD WAIT THE SCORE OF LAST MATCH

Catalonia u19 - CP Voltregà

CP Voltregà has beaten Catalonia under19 3 to 0, an excessive result for the game and opportunities demonstrated by both teams. The first half ended with tha 2-0 advantage for Voltregà in a game that was being hardly contested. Catalonia under 19 has done a great defensive work and has created clear chances throughout the match, especially in the second part when they made a better game. Finally, Voltregà scored their third goal, when the Catalan u19 players were doing the best hockey.

Now CP Voltregà has to wait for the result of the last match between Catalonia and Chile to know if they are the champions. Catalonia needs to win by 5 goals of difference to Chile. Otherwise, the champions will be CP Voltregà.

CATALONIA GO UNBEATEN TO THE FINAL

Catalonia comes back to a continental final after beating Uruguay in semifinals 12 - 0.

Catalonia has started the game playing to win but have found a locked box in the field of Uruguayan players, high temperatures in the sportshall and that the ball does not flow fast enough, what has made not easy to score and to find the normal pace of play of the Catalan. It was the fourth minute of play, with the first goal by Anna Romero, when Catalonia has started to advance to the semi-finals, reaching the half with a score of 3-0.

In the second half, Catalan players have extended the lead with speed and force, reaching the end of the match scoring a large number of goals, and where all players were able to show their skills.

Particularly noteworthy is the work of the coach, Josep Maria Barberà, which again has placed Catalonia to the final of the Copa America.

With Catalonia played: Viki Rodriguez (p), Cristina Barceló (3), Maria Díez (2), Anna Romero (1), Berta Tarrida (1) -cinc inicial- Anna Casarramona (1), Marta Montpart (1), Ester Nadal (1), Maria Majó (2) and Caterina Ortega.

This Saturday at 19:30 Catalonia will face Chile to win the title, in what will be a repeat of the 2007 final. In the first stage of competition the match between these two teams was very even, ending with a narrow Catalan win by 3 to 2.
