CATALONIA GO UNBEATEN TO THE FINAL
|
Catalonia comes back to a continental final after beating Uruguay in semifinals 12 - 0.
Catalonia has started the game playing to win but have found a locked box in the field of Uruguayan players, high temperatures in the sportshall and that the ball does not flow fast enough, what has made not easy to score and to find the normal pace of play of the Catalan. It was the fourth minute of play, with the first goal by Anna Romero, when Catalonia has started to advance to the semi-finals, reaching the half with a score of 3-0.
In the second half, Catalan players have extended the lead with speed and force, reaching the end of the match scoring a large number of goals, and where all players were able to show their skills.
Particularly noteworthy is the work of the coach, Josep Maria Barberà, which again has placed Catalonia to the final of the Copa America.
With Catalonia played: Viki Rodriguez (p), Cristina Barceló (3), Maria Díez (2), Anna Romero (1), Berta Tarrida (1) -cinc inicial- Anna Casarramona (1), Marta Montpart (1), Ester Nadal (1), Maria Majó (2) and Caterina Ortega.
This Saturday at 19:30 Catalonia will face Chile to win the title, in what will be a repeat of the 2007 final. In the first stage of competition the match between these two teams was very even, ending with a narrow Catalan win by 3 to 2.

CHILE BEAT BRAZIL AND WILL BE IN THE FINAL
|
Chile has won Brazil by 2-1 and will play the final. The second semifinal has been really balanced between two teams that know each other very well, hours later they had already tied the last game of the initial phase. The game started with good plays by both teams and great performances by the goalkeepers, including penalties, maintaining a control strategy over the game that has led to the half time with a 0-0 draw. It was in the second half as both teams definitely have launched the attack, getting the Chilean advance in the scoring with two goals in quick succession of Francisca Donoso and Macarena Ramos. Minutes later, Erica Bueno has reduced distances, turning emotion to the game until the end, though Braxil have not been able to win.
Goals: 1-0 Francisca Donoso; Macarena Ramos 2-0, 2-1 Erica Bueno.

ARGENTINA WOMEN'S NATIONAL TEAM, CHAMPIONS OF 2010 COPA AMERICA

Argentina was proclaimed champion of the 2010 Copa America International Open. During the first twenty minutes, the chances have been clearer for the Catalan team. The Argentinian team has been playing the ball but has generated no danger, until an innocent shot of Daiana Silva without any intention to go to goal finished in goal.
Catalonia has come to win in the second half but a goal of Argentina seven minutes of the restart gave bad feelings to Catalans. A free kick scored by Carla Giudicci at minute twenty-eight has returned the encourage to the Catalan players. A nervous and tense atmosphere and very cheering fans have pushed the Catalan to fight till the end.
Unfortunately for Catalonia, despite having to tie close, could not have won Argentina, that won with an adjusted 1 to 2.
